Asociación de hemimelia de peroné y pie equino varo: reporte de caso y revisión de la literatura

El síndrome de hemimelia del peroné incluye un amplio espectro de problemas entre los que se pueden encontrar grados variables de hipoplasia del peroné, laxitud ligamentaria de la rodilla, hipoplasia del cóndilo lateral femoral, genu valgo, deformidades angulares de la tibia, acortamiento tanto del fémur como de la tibia, coaliciones tarsianas, agenesia de los rayos laterales del pie y pie equino valgo. La asociación de la deformidad de pie equino varo con hemimelia del peroné es más común que lo reportado previamente. La presencia de una coalición del retropié es un hallazgo relativamente constante, y esta condición debe ser anticipada por el cirujano tratante del pie equino varo. En este artículo se presenta un caso clínico de asociación de hemimelia de peroné con pie equino varo; el pie fue tratado con métodos convencionales de manejo, sin considerarse la presencia de coalición tarsal del retropié, los cuales fueron fallidos.
