Surgical treatment of Achilles tendon insertion rupture using calcaneal tunneling reinsertion surgery: case report

Abstract

We describe the case of an insertional rupture of the Achilles tendon in a young sporty patient. We present in this paper a reconstruction surgical technique modified from the Pierrot - Murphy procedure originally described for the management of dynamic equinus of the foot in patients with central origin motor insufficiency with the addition of the Scuderi procedure originally used for quadriceps tendon ruptures.
