Abstract

The axillary artery injury in proximal humerus fractures is an uncommon lesion, but given his great morbidity it must be suspected in patients with severely displaced fractures. An 85 years old woman without signs of vascular injury, with laceration of the axillary artery that was diagnosed intraoperatively, requiring saphenous graft as treatment for vascular injury and change in surgical planning.
