Abstract

Radiocapitelar joint synovial plicae must be differentiated from other causes of painful snapping elbow like intra-articular loose bodies, instability, or medial dislocation of the triceps muscle over the medial epicondyle. Lateral elbow pain associated with snapping in flexion and pronation are frequent findings seen in patients with radiocapitelar synovial plicae. Capitellum and radial head cartilage lesions associated with localized synovitis and synovial plicae are findings generally found during arthroscopic surgery. We report the case of a young female patient diagnosed with a painful snapping elbow associated with a synovial plicae and radiocapitelar chondromalacia.
