Abstract

The most important activities and events carried out by the SCCOT in the scientific, academic, professional, and social spheres during the first 11 years of this century are reviewed chronologically. The strengthening of our association at the national and international levels and the development of cooperation agreements with other global orthopedic societies are highlighted. The Health Professionals Cooperative (Coopresalud), the Center for Advanced Studies of the Musculoskeletal System (Cesme), and the Latin American Center for Research and Training in Minimally Invasive Surgery (CLEMI) are created. The contributions of the society and its members to the community in the field of health are described, with programs for the prevention and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries.
