Abstract

Review article about developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH), that includes current concepts with regard to this important and common disease in terms of its definition and terminology, epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis, pathology, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and prognosis, according to Colombian and worldwide scientific literature, and the experience of the principal author for 23 years in a zone with endemic incidence of DDH.
