Necrotizing fasciitis is a severe infection of soft tissues characterized by local and systemic involvement and associated with high mortality rates. Episodes of infection by Aeromona hydrophila as etiological agent of the disease are rare, usually in immunocompromised patients, and with high mortality rates. The cases reported in the pediatric population are even rarer. The case is presented of an 8–year-old with no history of underlying systemic disease with clinical and histopathology diagnosis of necrotizing fasciitis with microbiological isolation of A. hydrophila, with successful treatment secondary to extensive surgical debridement and initiation of antibiotic therapy.
