Currently traffic accidents and high-energy trauma are primarily responsible for pelvic ring fractures in the general population. When a pelvic fracture occurs in a pregnant woman, both fetal and maternal morbidity and mortality increases. There are few reports of management of pelvic fractures during pregnancy because of its low incidence. However, most cases of pelvic fractures in pregnant women have a fatal outcome for both mother and fetus. We report the case of a 36 years old pregnant woman that having 31 weeks of gestation, suffering traffic accident, which generates an unstable pelvic ring fracture which was managed surgically with open and percutaneous techniques, with favorable outcome.
