Four patients that presented a Monteggia fracture were treated by means of a closed reduction and percutaneous fixation of the ulna with an intramedullary nail as permanent treatment at the Roosevelt Institute for Orthopedics Pediatrics (IOIR). No relapse or infections occurred, which seems to indicate that this procedure is an effective technique for the treatment of this type of injury.
Level of evidence: IV.
